Kalei Coffee Co.’s flagship in Beirut’s Mar Mikhael/Rmeil district was once the Coconi House, abandoned in 1984 during the Lebanese civil war. When we entered the garden, we felt at home, offering a quiet escape from the nearby hustle. We preserved the old structure, allowing the space to guide our operations. In September 2016, Kalei’s first coffee house and roastery opened, honoring the past. (Note: Parking available for residents only.)

in the last weekThis is effectively my second home in Beirut. I'm here between 3-10 times per week. Sometimes for a morning coffee and work session, sometimes for an evening drink, sometimes for a good post-lunch espresso. But always leaving satisfied and content. Amazing coffee (Herag's latte on an empty stomach is the best way to start any day), great service, friendly staff, and quality food & snacks. Good any time of day, any day of the week.

a week agoGood place to grab a coffee and work, i often see groups especially during summer on the rooftops, the food and drinks are overall overpriced, the menu could use a revamp
