Kalei Coffee Co.’s flagship in Beirut’s Mar Mikhael/Rmeil district was once the Coconi House, abandoned in 1984 during the Lebanese civil war. When we entered the garden, we felt at home, offering a quiet escape from the nearby hustle. We preserved the old structure, allowing the space to guide our operations. In September 2016, Kalei’s first coffee house and roastery opened, honoring the past. (Note: Parking available for residents only.)

2 weeks agoA very chill place, perfect for relaxing. You have the option to sit in the garden, surrounded by adorable and friendly cats, or enjoy the air-conditioned comfort inside. It's an ideal spot to take your work. Their drinks are refreshing and delicious, and the cakes are absolutely delightful. The staff is nice and welcoming. Definitely a place I'll come back to for sure.

a month agoI tried their homemade egg burger and homemade ginger ale. I was pleasantly surprised by the flavours. The café's space is charming and the atmosphere is peaceful, despite being in a busy part of Beirut.

a month agoGood ambiance, nice food. TERRIBLE WIFI. If you’re going to come study or work here, this is NOT the place. The WiFi is slow. It’s definitely more of a hangout or meeting place. I’d recommend urbanista or living room.
