in the last weekI am currently staying at Lancaster Plaza Beirut, in Room 720 (7th floor, corner room), with my scheduled check-out on the 1st. However, due to the issues outlined below, I am seriously considering checking out earlier than planned. Noise insulation & sleep disruption Room 720 is adjacent to Room 718, and the sound insulation is extremely poor. Loud door slamming, conversations near the neighboring room door, and corridor noise are clearly audible inside the room and directly affect the sleeping area. As a result, I was only able to sleep for approximately three hours, waking up multiple times due to noise. Rest and comfort—basic expectations in any hotel—were not met. Do Not Disturb not respected Despite activating Do Not Disturb through the in-room system and placing a Do Not Disturb sign clearly on the door (shown in the attached photos), the room door was still knocked on more than once. This is unacceptable and defeats the purpose of offering a DND option, especially in a hotel that claims five-star standards. Front desk attitude & professionalism One of the front desk staff members displayed poor hospitality standards. The interaction was noticeably cold, without a welcoming attitude or even a basic smile, while handling phone calls during guest interaction. As the first point of contact, the front desk should reflect professionalism and guest care—this was not the case. Guest relations & management accessibility Attempts to reach Guest Relations were unsuccessful. During the afternoon/evening period, reception appeared understaffed, and reaching a Duty Manager was surprisingly difficult. In comparable hotels, such matters are addressed immediately with clear communication and accountability. Here, there was a lack of visible concern or follow-up. Room condition, furniture & flooring The room condition does not meet five-star standards and is closer to a three-star hotel at best. The flooring is heavily worn and scratched, uncomfortable both visually and physically. The room door and fittings show clear signs of neglect and lack of maintenance. The interior design, colors, and finishes feel outdated and poorly maintained. The attached photos accurately reflect the actual condition. Housekeeping & cleanliness Housekeeping staff were polite; however, cleaning quality needs improvement. Tables were not properly wiped, bathroom fittings show wear, and attention to detail is lacking. Hot beverage hygiene & safety concerns A particularly concerning issue relates to health and safety. The in-room electric kettle was visibly dirty and poorly maintained, raising hygiene concerns (as shown in the photos). There were no metal teaspoons provided for hot drinks. Only plastic stirrers intended for cold beverages were available. When this was raised, the response given was to use the plastic stirrer for hot drinks, which is unsafe and unhealthy, as plastic is not suitable for high-temperature liquids. This reflects a serious lack of attention to basic food safety and guest well-being. Overall This stay has not reflected a five-star experience in terms of comfort, service quality, sound insulation, hygiene, or safety. The purpose of this review is not confrontation, but to inform future guests and highlight genuine issues that have directly affected my stay to the point of considering an early check-out.

The staff are always very respectful and attentive, and any issue you mention is handled quickly and smoothly. A special thank you to Adam at the reception — he is extremely kind, helpful, and professional. This is my 6th stay at the hotel, and as always, the experience has been excellent. I truly appreciate the consistency and care, and I will definitely continue choosing Lancaster Plaza for my stays.
