Barbar has a large selection of popular lebanese snacks, savoury pastries and also traditional cold and warm mezze items. They do nearly everything and offer seating area, to-go options and delivery. You can also enjoy Breakfast at their place in Hamra with a bowl of Foul Mudammas, Labneh or your Manakish Flatbread of choice. 🇱🇧

Great food and super generous portions! We ordered two platters and honestly couldn’t finish them—portions were huge and everything was absolutely delicious. The total came to just $25 for two people, including drinks, which is an amazing deal. Fresh, fast, and full of flavor. Definitely a must-try spot if you’re in Hamra!

Simply one of the best chicken shawarmas I’ve ever had. I wish they had places to sit, it’s only takeaway. The staff are very nice and welcoming.

Got a chicken shawarma and a drink for 6 dollars, the shawarma is generously stuffed with chicken, but I found it to be quite average, lacking flavor and sauce. Would come back again for the vibes of the place and try some of the plates / manakeesh / falafel.

A 24/7 restaurant, nice location and great place to have a dinner in late evening or midnight. The food was super delicious The service was not as expected Prices are resonable, but good for thr quantity and quality they offer. Car parkings are available only in sides of the streets which sometimes become difficult.

Barbar in Hamra is one of Beirut’s most famous street food institutions. It started in the late 1970s as a small snack shop on Hamra’s bustling Piccadilly Street. Over the years, it expanded into a 24-hour operation known for shawarma, falafel, manakish, burgers, and fresh juices. During Lebanon’s civil war, Barbar stayed open when many others closed, which cemented its reputation as a reliable spot where anyone could eat at any hour. Its neon-lit façade and large shawarma spits became a landmark, and the brand eventually grew into several connected outlets (bakery, juice shop, grill, and patisserie). Today, Barbar is considered the go-to street food hub in Beirut, popular with locals, expats, and tourists alike. Its appeal lies in fast service, consistent taste, and wide menu variety. Many Beirutis have stories of late-night meals at Barbar after concerts, parties, or simply while walking Hamra.
