Overpriced for the size and the taste. The ambience is very nice, very suitable for a date or a fancy gathering. However, the food was disappointing, we came to taste Michelin quality food, some dishes were but others were definitely not. The cauliflower was tasteless and needed more roasting ( the end stem was basically raw and the sauce needed a bit more flavor to balance the dish), the ribeye steak was soo fatty ( I know it is expected but it proportion of meat to fat was very very low it was basically eating fat and butter with barely any meat). The date dish was really good ( no wonder it’s their recommended one) and the calamari dish was exceptional as well and definitely the feta dish was soo good. I would come back just to try the other dishes and give it an absolute fair opinion but I tried to try their most famous ones.

Baron has a great atmosphere, friendly staff, and a fancy feel—definitely a nice spot for a date. However, the food was too expensive for what it was, and some dishes were disappointing. The Soujouk Dates were delicious and a must-try, as was the Calamari, one of the best I’ve had. The Ribeye was amazing but the fries with it felt raw. The Feta dish was exceptional. On the other hand, the Cauliflower needed more roasting; the end stem was raw, and the flavor was nothing special—just like having cauliflower with tahini at home. Overall, while some dishes stood out, the portions and taste didn’t justify the high prices.

if you want a great culinary experience showcasing lebanese flavors and spices in a different way, i would highly recommend you to visit baron. this place is a gem in the heart of mar mkhayel they have such an original menu. I've been to this place 2-3 times maybe but i really like it. the portions are quite generous and it's perfect for sharing. the restaurant is clean and the waiters are super friendly. I just have one remark, i remember having the pork neck before it use to be way bigger than what it is in the picture, also it came quite tough, it definitely needed more cooking to break it down so it could be softer. other than that i would still recommend this place (don't skip on the desserts).

Allegedly one of the fifty best restaurants in the Middle East, but I can think of fifteen better ones in Beirut alone. It's shockingly overpriced for the amount of food they give you. They advertise their menu as being a collection of shareable plates. And then, for a table of four, they give you a squid ink risotto with three prawns on top, leaving you in the ridiculous situation of having to divide three prawns between four people. For $30, you absolutely should not have to do that. Other dishes are similarly stingy - we were left asking each other "did you have enough?". They give you bread and muhammara for the table, but of course only two bread rolls between four. Good restaurants give you the impression of being hospital - as though the chef enjoys feeding people. Here, it feels like the kitchen is passive-aggressively trying to send you as little food as possible in the hope that you'll cave in and order more. The quality of the food is generally quite high. But there are so many better options in this city that don't give you the strong impression that they're trying to give you the absolute minimum possible in exchange for the price they're asking.
